Default Moving Knock Point?

When paper tuning , I know you have to move the knock point to get gid of a high/low tear. My questionis, " Why can' t you just move the rest up or down?" My mathews came with a knock when i bought it, I would assume that the knock would be in the right place. I would think that a knock could only be in one spot, but I guess that is wrong.

Just because the bow had a nock installed when you bought doesn' t mean it' s in the right spot for your setup.............Moving the nock will be easier to do in my opinion....

I know it may not be in the correct spot. Doesn' t the correct spot for the knock depend on what angle the rest is installed?

Most bows are designed for balance and that is obtained by having your hand very near, if not at the center of the riser. And you " point" your bow better the closer the arrow is to your hand. That' s why, in most cases, you start out with the line of the rested/nocked arrow at the same height as the rest mounting hole in the riser. You then set the nocking point based off that. There are some times when you want to move the rest up or down from that position, but that is the best starting point for most archers.
