RE: whisker biscuit and center shot?
I' m no expert, but incase your wantng some sort of answer today-
Do not ignore the burger holes. Set up your arrow so it cuts through them dead center and then is perpindicular to the string. (for starters)
A tip I saw on Arhers Choice went like this.
Set your bow up to somehow be held vertically (they used a fancy bow holder, I imagined jamming the lower limb into a couch cushion and then leveling the string w/ the front of the riser gracing the couch back cushions)
and the use a level on the string until it' s pefrectly level (perpindicular to the floor).
Then place an arrow on the string and use a level on it to find the nock point.
When the bubble reads true, mark it and then place your nock/ loop.
I think a lot of confusion is created with the word " nocking point" , some people refer to the location of the brass nock pinched onto the string. Some refer to the arrows nock on the string.
I don' t think this was an issue before the string loop became so popular. (I could be wrong as I have been before)
Now the words " center shot" refers to the amount the rest is away from the riser.
You can eyeball it for starters. put an arrow on the string and hold the bow from behind. Line up the arrow with the string and the string with the upper and lower portions of the riser. at least that' s how I do it before fine tuning.
Did this bow shop not set up your bow for you? or was this over the phone advice?
