I think TAP lets you do what I want. I would like to estimate the fps of the Hoyt Razortec C.5 and the Darton Magnum Extreme with CPS, with the following set-ups:
Yep I did, rechecked and came up with 252 for the C5, don' t know if i' m doing something wrong or what? Ah well....
If i use the same Bow Performance Factor that I come up with when I enter in your numbers on the Hornet, I come up with 273fps. That sound more like it...
I was just looking at TAP web page, I don' t know what version of the program you have, but they have an update that is supposed to do a much better job estimating speeds with heavier arrows. Apparently this was a problem, and perhaps it is to blame for your findings...
Sure seems like it should be much faster...

I had a brain fart just a sec....I' m getting around 250 for the C5 and 252 for the CPS with TAP. Seems low doesn' t it?
Seems about right to me.

Out of my bow, I get 252 fps with the 500 grain arrow.
That is one smokn bow. My bow has a comparable IBO (Patriot SC) and I am shooting 276 fps with a 425 gr. arrow, which if you subtract 1 fps for every 3 grains of arrow weight, would put me shooting a 500 gr. arrow at 251 fps with 1.5 inches more draw length. What all do you have on your string?

Silent, at the time that fps was chronied, 1 Tru speednok, nothing else. Since the hornet design is so quiet anyway, I prefer to have as much energy as possible transfered to the arrow. When I checked it at 29" draw, I only gained 6 fps with the 500 grain arrow. It' s a sweet, efficient little bow. It will spit a 350 grain arrow at 295, 28" draw at 70#s.
Mshane, I didn' t see your edited post with the 273 #. That is what I was suspecting.
How does the BPF work? Are the guestimates based on what my bow does, or what the other two should do given their design?

The BPF is a hard number that TAP calculates by using FPS, Arrow Weight, Draw Weight, Brace Height, and Draw Length. I don' t have a clue how it extrapolates the BPF with those numbers. The 273 number was reached by putting your hard numbers in TAP and using the info provided by TAP for your diamond. If the IBOs are similar then my assumption is that their BPFs are similar. Hope this helps.....
