Default No peep, no kisser, no misses

This is a follow up to a topic I posted a couple of weeks ago " Shooting Form" .

I ruled out target panic and took a more technical approach to my shooting problem. As someone suggested, I re-checked my kisser and peep positioning. I do think both of these " aids" were my biggest problems.

Long story short I took both of them off and have been very pleased with the results.

What is everyone' s thoughts on shooting without one or the other or both?

Thanks for all the help!!!!

Works great when you' re concentrating in front of a target. Easy to get back on track when you forget.

Potential to go to $%&@ when a deer steps out. Second chance when you remember what to do rarely occurs...

I never used a kisser and always hated a peep. Always fiddling around, keeping the string twisted just right so the peep would turn perfectly. Got rid of it and liked it so much that I went ahead and got rid of the sights as well.

You' d be suprized at how little accuracy I lost. My average 3D scores are practically unchanged. Best of all, you' ve got a completely unobstructed view of the animal when you' re hunting.

But I guess I do need to include a bit of a disclaimer. I' ve shot barebow with my recurves and longbows for many, many years. Barebow compound is VERY easy in comparison.

I don' t use a kisser...it doesn' t do anything for me a peep won' t do. I keep enough anchor points to keep consistant, and I keep both eyes open (for that clean view of the target).
You CAN get away without a peep..and a kisser, if you have good anchor points. But as rangeball said...once you start shooting from weird possitions...under pressure...with a touch of buck fever....you CAN loose some of that nice steady 20 yard accuracy you get on the range.
Of course you can try to be like Art....I' m just not that good to get rid of my sights yet

I' ve never used a kisser button but i use to use a peep. I took it off a couple of years ago and have never looked back. Like already mentioned consistent anchor is the key. I have 3 anchor points, i anchor with the top knot of my loop in the corner of my mouth with the string on the tip of my nose and my index finger knuckle under my ear. I shoot very good this way and i can' t see any difference in my groups now or when i had a peep sight in the string. I have no desire to ever go back to a peep sight and i wish i would have removed it long ago.
