Default I have two questions?

Is a shorter ATA bow more or less forgiving. What is you ideal ATA length. Also
I' ve hear a larger brace height is more forgiving, what is your ideal brace height? My current bow is 37 5/8in ATA and 6 3/8in brace height. I am looking at four different bows here are the specs. 31" ATA 6 7/8" brace height... 34" ATA 6 7/8" brace height...35 3/4" ATA 7 1/4" brace height and 36" ATA 8 3/4" brace height. These four are all renegade bows and I will probably purchase one of them next year. Which one do you think i should get and why?

I was wondering how to figure out what my drawlength is on my bow im shooting now. I know how to figure out what my drawlength should be but that might not be exactly what my bow is set at.

With an arrow on the bow, draw the bow, and have a friend measure the distance from the anchor point to where the arrow meets the back (or side furthest from you) of the bow. That' s the draw length your bow is set at.

I can' t answer your other questions because I' m a finger shooter and find that 43" is the minimum I like in Axle to Axle, and while I' ve shot bows in the 6" brace height range, find them much more forgiving in the 8" range.

Danny' s method is correct for measuring ' true' draw length. Bows are sold by AMO draw length. To get that, have your friend mark the arrow over the center of the berger button hole, then add 1 3/4" to that.

Of the options you mention, I would lean more to the last one, 36" ATA and 8 3/4" brace as the one being more ' forgiving,' especially if your draw length is over 30" . It will not be the one that gives the fastest arrow. Longer axle to axle provides some resistance to cant, and the high brace keeps the string away from the arm, especially an arm encased in a heavy jacket sleeve.

If your draw length is 30" or under, I' d go for the 35 3/4" ATA with 7 1/4" brace. That one would be as forgiving as the other bow for a shorter draw, plus give a bit better arrow speed due to the slightly longer power stroke.

Unless you draw less than 28" , I wouldn' t recommend any bow that' s shorter than 35" or braces at less than 7" for someone that' s looking for ' forgiveness' in their bow.

I agree with Arthur. The longer the ATA the better for forgivness. for hunting, you probably don' t want a bow much more than 44" ATA...thats gettin pretty big.
I' m 6' 2" with a 31.25" draw (Yes, I DO have longer arms than I should...wingspan of 6' 6" ) I like abow between 36" -40" My current bow is 39" ATA Not many shorter bows are made for a longer draw length.
If your lookingor the most forgiving bow (I prefer the trem stable...NO bow " forgives" errors...the arrow should go where the pin was...longer bows are harder to move quickly...more brace means the arrow in on the string for less time/distance) of the bows you mentioned...go with the one at " 36" ATA 8 3/4" brace height"

Arthur why would i want the one that is a shorter brace height if i have a shorter draw? You said if my draw is under 30 then go with the one 1/4inch shorter but like 1 inch or more less brace height? Why would i do this?
