Default Arrow straightness, how big of a difference is there?

How big of a difference are you going to notice between a .003 shaft and a .006 shaft? Is it humanly possible to tell the difference in accuracy between the two? Based on the human error factor of archery, is that minute of a difference going to show up on the range or in the field? What about weight consistancy? If you have a dozen arrow, and all are within a grain or two of one another, is there going to be any noticable difference?

Provided that you spin each arrow for good spin with points or broadheads, is there a difference?

.006 for most should be just fine.
I am a perfectionist when it comes to set up. I won' t go over .003, and prefer .0015 NOT that I am SO grea that I can tell the differance...but it helps me " tune the archer" When I KNOW my arrows/bow are NOT to blame, any misses get blamed on ME! If you don' t question your equipment, you know there is only one part of the " trilogy" left to tune.

I could write a full page on this.......but anyway......I used to worry myself to death with this. I was really worried that .003 wasn' t straight enough.
In actuality I had never even shot any .006 arrows. Well if you shoot and hunt a lot .........you know arrows get broke, lost, etc. and a .006 arrow will shoot plenty good enough for anyone hunting .Since most aluminums are straighter than that.......I assume your looking at carbons. I suggest you try some GT Hunters or PSE CF Dominators........I' ll garentee you that you will not see a noticable difference in your accuracy and you will sure feel better if one gets broken or lost or whatever !!

One thing that goes along with straighter arrows is probably more consistent spine & weight. The straighter arrows are usually hand picked from the batch. My feeling is the better quality arrows are of better tolerance in all areas.

What pdq stated makes alot of sense though I do remember seeing something to the contrary recently in one of the various threads. I have shot many of the ICS carbons currently on the market and have not really noticed a significant difference in the basic accuracy levels achieved by the average archer. However, for those more skilled, there might be a significant difference especially at longer ranges.
