For paper tuning, I start where front of bow is about 6 feet from paper. Once I get a bullet hole from tuning bow, I drop back to 10 feet and then 10 yards and adjust bow accordingly. Usually once I get it tuned at 6 feet, it's good the rest of the way. I should try the walk back method myself sometime.
Only problem with paper tuning is form is critical. I have shot a few bullet holes at one distance and have a slight tear at a few feet further back.
I shoot a lot and tend to have off days from time to time and practice to just give up and not keep shooting. This past Friday I was on my game come Saturday morning I was way off. Just packed back up and went inside.
