Default patriot draw length question

I have the 28" module in my 2003 SC patriot. I just put a string loop on the bow and was wondering if I can shorten the draw length without buying a different module? Do I need a bow press to do it?
Thanks

You can effectively shorten the draw length by moving the draw stop peg to a shorter position but in doing so you will also lower the percentage of letoff. In order to keep the same percentage of letoff but go to a shorter draw length you need to get a different draw length module.

No, you do not need a bow press to adjust the draw stop peg.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I didn' t know if moving that peg would hurt the performance of the bow any, but I guess not.

Theoretically I would say " no" . You are slightly shortening the draw length by adjusting the draw stop peg but you are also lowering the letoff. The first decreases speed but the second normally increases it. On other bows I have found that the two usually cancel out each other' s effects on speed. Other aspects of the bow' s performance usually are not affected.

Just a suggestion, but you might want to try shortening the length of your release, and then make the loop as small as possible while still being able to grab the arrow with your release. Both of these should reduce your need to drop down in draw length.
