Default Position of the MZE hook???

When the MZE rest is in the lowered position what is the recommended position of the hook? I have mine setup so that the hook is straight up and down when in the down position and it lifts up and leans away from me as I draw the bow. Is this right? I thought the video explained this as being correct but I haven' t watched it again to verify it.

Thanks,
Toby

Default RE: Position of the MZE hook???

I don' t think it makes a whole lot of difference. I have both of mine set straight up at full draw. Angling back at rest. Just make sure you always set it the same way after adjusting centershot. There can be a bit of difference in nock height standing straight vs fore and aft.

Default RE: Position of the MZE hook???

Thanks guys. I was somewhat confused. I watched the video again and it says to set the hook straight up and down in its lowered position. Then I read the paper instructions it says to set it stright up and down when at full draw.

The biggest difference I can tell is that the first scenario, no hook angle in the lowered position, would give you less clearance on the bottom but more on the left, around the hook. The 2nd scenario, no hook angle at full draw, would be just the opposite. If i recall correctly, I think I had read guys shooting the Bowtech VFT' s set their' s up with the second scenario, hook angled towards them when in the lowered position. Because their limbs don' t move very much this gives them max clearance on the bottom.

I' m shooting a Mathew' s Ultra Max. It has a lot of limb movement, definately no problem getting clearance on the bottom side. Heck I can shoot cock feather down and it will still clear by more than 1/4" . I think I' ll leave it just like it is.

Thanks again,
Toby
