I guess I need to now as - HOW is optimum position determined ? I have a Fred Bear ' CODE' model bow..... 3 years old, and never got any sort of manual' .... so geeee..... gotta figure this one out.
I am trying to go over my bow and check that all is well and start my shooting for the year.......
I don' t know anything about the bow you have, but most bows have some type of marks or small holes on the cams that should run paralell with the bow string--hope this helps.

To know if your string has crept, take it off and measure it. Best cam position is best determined by asking the manufacturer for that particular model.
i don' t have any string strech anymore since i make my strings from ultra cam material. if you order strings for your bow try ultra cam it just don' t strech period.

you can use your pepper spray my 12 gauge with 3 inch slugs works fine
When I bought my new bow I made pencil marks on each side of my cam, drawing a line along the limb. This way I could easily look to see if the line changed at all because of stretch.
