Default ThunderHeads

All of my life i have used ThunderHeads w/ 100 g. and 125 g. Is there any reason to switch? Does another 3 Blade Broadhead outperform Thunderheads by that much?

Some broadheads like Muzzy have a better blade retention style than Thunderhead, but when I hunted with them I never lost a blade, so that was a non-issue for me. I could get those blades so sharp they were scary to even think about touching![]
I found them to be a nice high quality head, and didn' t find a need to switch until I started using the extra KE my newer set-ups were generating to power large cutting diameter mechanicals.
If its working for you and you have 100% confidence in them now I see no need to switch to another style/brand unless you have specific goals in mind.

If you still have plenty of heads I wouldn' t bother. If you are getting low and just want to try something else then thier are a few that you may like. Overall though I don' t think the thunderheads will let you down, and like Matt said they are a high quality head that have been doing what they do for over 20 years.

i have heard alot of good things about slick tricks! i think i will try some this year.
i actully have some on the way!

there is just too much stuff to choose from!

I have been tempted to try a different brand too, but confidence in my equipement is very important and I know they work.

Outside of my first bow kill, every deer I have taken has been with Thunderheads. I tried to switch to Steel Force last year, but never tuned my bow well enough to shoot them. I will try again this year with my new boz, but if I can' t get them to fly to my satisfaction, I am more than happy to shoot thunderheads.

all i use is thunderheads and love them and will not change to anything else i still have and use the same head i shoot my first deer with 10 years ago just replaced the blade after i sharpen them twice......

i too have used many thunderheads since my entry into the sport. however, last year i started getting low and decided it was time for a change and try something new. i used the nap spitfire mechanicals and loved them. the provide a much larger cutting diameter and no broadhead tuning involved as they shoot like my field points. don' t be afraid to try something new.
