Default What is the difference between technical papers and technical notes?

I'm doing a writing project that involves using a Professional Journal, for my project i used the Journal of Environmental Engineering. Their table of contents is seperated between technical papers and technical notes, what is the difference between the two?

The note would be a side note detailing or expounding on the subject, if that makes any sense. For example you might be writing about a cam the note would include specifics and tolerances of the cam.

Hello Paul,as per my view a technical paper is summary of observations leading to specific point. Similar, to a thesis. I think this will help you in your project.......
