Default How to remove the Hoyt string stop

I'm ordering a hi-tek string suppressor for my maxxis 31. I wanted to know how do you get the old one off. I removed the set screws on the side of the riser but the carbon rod wont move.

Probably just a slight burr has rolled up from the set screws. You may have to use a persuader such as a pair of vice grips to get it to turn slightly and then it should come right out.Wrap the rod with a rag so you don't damage it with the pliers.

There are two types a carbon and a steel rod. Do as the fox said, but take more caution on the carbon, it is easier to break. I couple of drops of penatrating oil will help.
