Default How to prepare for a technical job after 3 years of gap?

I am an 2006 pass out MCA. At that time I have joined a company as a Web Researcher, which is a non-techie job. But, now after working in this field for more than 2 years I am feeling that I need a techie job to get satisfy. Can anyone tell me that how should I prpere for technical job after such a long gap.

I would say your first step would be to learn enough tech to know that you are posting a job hunting question on a hunting forum.
