Default MZE problem

I shoot a Mathews FX set up with the MZE. I am finding that when I release the string, the claw smartly slaps the top of my wrist as it drops away. It seems to be tuned well and I get great groups. Should I try to shorten the shaft that' s connected to the cable slide, and try to retune after?

It sounds like the arm may be a little long. How much below the shelf is it when not drawn? Mine just goes barely below the sight window shelf, it clears the vanes and my hand just fine.
