I am looking to buy a fletching jig so that I can begin fletching my own arrows. What fletching jig would be the best for me? I plan on using helical fletching. I' ve heard good things about the Bitzenberger, but it does have the disadvantage of glueing only one feather or vane at a time. I' ve also looked at a Cabela' s jig that looks similar to the Bitzenberger but holds three feathers at a time. The Arizona EZ fletch also holds all three feathers at the same time. These two jigs may get the job done much faster, but do they do as good a job as the Bitzenberger? Are they less precise?
I guess what is most important to me is to find a fletching jig that can be used to fletch helical feathers and do it very accurately and precisely every time. ANY SUGGESTIONS? Does anyone have experience with any of the aforementioned fletching jigs?
I have (2) Bitz' s. Using good fletching cement, I can turn the jig for the next feather within a minute.
Here is how to look at it: One mistake at a time, or three mistakes at a time. After all the years I have fletched my own shafts, I still make a mistake now and then when my mind is wandering. I usually catch any mistake within one feather/vane.
I have a Jo Jan which is also a one-at-a-time fletching jig. As 903 said, one fletch at a time isn' t a problem. I usually do mine during commercials on TV and I' m usually not in any particular hurry to get them done.

I use the Grayling jig. It is real similar to the bitz, but I didn' t want to spend that much money.
I have to agree with these other guys though. Depending on the glue you use, you can spin it to the next vane in less than a minute. I can whip up an arrow really quick with mine.

The Cabelas is a nice jig, you can fletch quite a few in a hurry. That said, I' m selling mine to get Blitz so I can fletch 4 feather 75-105 deg fletch to shoot through my fury-x system.
I think Bitzenberger makes the finest jig. It' s construted of beefy metal and doesn' t have any slop in the jig or clamp. I know guys who have been using the same Bitzenberger for several decades. It' s the first choice of most professional fletchers as well.
I' d give 2nd choice to the BPE Pro Fletch. It' s plastic, but is also constructed well and is rigid. Priced ~$30 less than a Bitzenberger, it' s worthy of consideration.
I' ve fletched several dozen arrows with an Arizona EZ Fletch, which is garbage, IMO. There' s no mechanism to ensure the arms close perfectly along the shaft, hence there is alot of slop in where they may seat. The result is that many arrows come out fletched very poorly, with fletchings that are no where near 120 degrees apart let alone rest on the shaft with the same attitude.
i have a jo jan and have been using it for years, i love it ,there are several other good ones on the market however the jo jan is the only one i know that you can fletch six arrows at once !
