How to make a bow?

I'm looking for a great instructional site on how to make a great sturdy longbow or recurve yourself at home, hopefully with step-by-step pictures. The reason is because I want to scale the measurements down and hopefully thru trial and error make an extremely small bow just for laughs. Like a bow with only an 18" ata length. I think it'd be fun to just try and make. Can someone please lead me in the right direction?
