Default Which style performs BETTER ?

When choseing between mech. heads of the same configuration, which style of blade retention is best ?.
Will a head with it' s blades held in place by an O-ring, open up and perform better/quicker, than say a head that uses retention clips to keep the blades in place.I know that NOT needing to keep an eye on the O-rings is nice, but could it cost a little in resulting performance ?[]
