Default Straight-Fletched Cock Feather

While attending an open house at at a twin cities (Minnesota) archery shop, a representative from Barrie Archery briefly spoke to a small group about using a method by which the cock feather/vane would be fletched straight versus offset or helical. He touched on this method after someone asked about the various types of fallaway rests.
Now I will admit that I' m technically-challenged, however, this sounds like a very simple cure-all. Have any of you tried this method and does it work ?
Thanks in advance for your replies !

I have never tried this, but would expect to get some erratic flight, especially with broadheads.

Sounds like a bad idea to me , dropaway rest are suposed to give 100% fletch clearance anyway , thats what they were designed for , so I dont see how it relates to a fallaway . Now for a prong rest its an idea but I dont think you would get very good flight with a arrow fletched like that . This year I plan on trying 4- 4" feathers 6 degree offset insteed of the 3- 4" feathers I' ve been shooting .

I tried that years ago, I did not notice any diff. in flight. Though my testing was not that extensive.

The problem I had was trying to get that straight fletch in the right spot. With the jig I was using it was a real pain "“ It was real easy to be to far to one side and it looked like poop.

I say its worth a try if you want to use a prong rest "“ I would try it again if I went back to that rest.
