Default Trophy Taker noise

I have had the original trophy taker on two different bows with the same results. When the launcher drops during the shot it slaps the shelf and is rather noisy. I have covered the shelf with different soft things ( rubber, moleskin etc), but still have the problem. When i pick the launcher up with my hand and release it the sound is incredible. Even my wife who does not shoot, has remarked about the noise. Does anyone have any ideas, I really dont want to buy another rest.

I use a slice of an old limbaver to quiet mine. You have to have the rest stop before the tab contacts the housing with the little tab. I just use some double sided tape to syick the slice of limbaver on my shelf. Hope this helps.

I use a piece of mole foam to cushion the drop sound. I have heard some use a piece of self adheasive velcro to do the same. I also use a large piece camo mole skin on the rest of the sight window to silence it incase my arrow taps it as I am loading a arrow. As far as silencing the fork I also use the camo mole skin and cut a " V" in the appropiate spot. The loading, drawing and arrow pick up is silent. Mark

I put some soft foam rubber stuff under it. If I pick it up with my fingers and let it snap down it does make a noise. But when I shoot I do not hear it hit. I don' t think it comes down as fast when you shoot.

Tm I think you hit it on the head.Mine is noisy, but the tab the cord is tied to is hitting the stop, the rest is not landing on the riser shelf.I' ll try getting it to hit the cushion on the riser I have rigged up.See if that quiets it any.

I actually had the same problem so I got the Long bar for mine so it would fall and not hit the bow but it was still loud. I actually went back to my Muzzy Zero Effect. Its the only drop away that I treid that is totally quiet!!

I used sticky backed foam (like for wondows and doorways) to silence my TT.
I had to cut it in half thickness wise, but it still worked great to deaden the prongs.

I too had the same problem with the TT,go to the long bar and set it back so it misses the arrow shelf. As far as the noise from the launcher hitting the stop tab,use Plasti-dip and paint it on the tab.The TT is a nice rest, but I can`t stand having to make adjustments on simple things like this.Right now I`am using the new Drop-Zone from TR-so far so good.
