New bow' s showing your bad form , or inproper setup. Most common result of wrist slap is your draw length is too long, forcing you to completely lock your elbow bringing it closer to the string, and getting slapped. If you alreadly are shooting with a slightly bent elbow, and your draw length is good. Then I' d check your gripping form. My brother got a new Hoyt last yr, and he made the mistake of using the bridge as a brace to his arm, and was getting slapped. I' m sure its something that can simply be resolved.

I doubt the fact that the string loop slid together and pinched the nock was the cause of the slap. Bad arrow flight maybe, but not the slap.

It seems the loop added some length to your draw and put you slightly on the long side, hence the slap.

I also don' t think the leeches being installed or not has anything to do with the slapping. They really just quiet the bow down.

Try shortening your draw by the length of the string loop and see if that does not fix the problem.

Do you use a wrist sling? If so, do you use an open hand grip? The reason I ask is that I' ve recently been monkeying around with my form & started whack' n the heck out of my arm.
I found that when I use an open hand, the bow springs forward & slaps me good. I' ve recently installed a " No Peep" & set it so I actually can see when I have a slight grip on the bow. Ain' t been hit since.
This also helps when I shoot my practice bow, which has no sling. This way I don' t forget which one I' m shooting & wind up launching my bow at the target.
Good Luck

I have heard from good shooters that the Cyber has a tendency to do this - often it is not on the power stoke but after the shot.

Don' t know why, never shot one, just passing probably useless info[:-]

Have you checked your brace height and axle to axle length to make sure the measurements are in spec? Hoyt' s strings and cables are notorious for creeping. If the rigging has elongated then the system is too loose and that lets the limbs recoil a lot further than they' re supposed to, and lets the string slap you low on the wrist because it' s going a lot further forward than it' s supposed to. The bow will also have more noise and felt recoil in the handle than it' s supposed to.

I shoot a Hoyt with Hoyt string/cables, and I keep a very close eye on my brace height and axle to axle measurements.

hold the bow so that ur knuckles are at a 45 degree angle to the bow and gently rest ur fingertips on the front of the riser, not wrapped around. have the handle of the bow running down in between the bones in ur palm of the index finger and thumb. dont grip the bow at all, just let the weight of the draw hold it up against ur hand. This should help.

sorry I did not read the last post, but its a good form to try regardless, it may help your groups
