Default Bowtech help please?

I recently got a Bowtech Pro 38 dual cam, and I really like the bow. It is a great shooter.

The only problem is that the previous owner put a string on the bow which was too short. In order to get the cams into the right position, I had to put 20 twists in each cable. Now the a2a length is 36.5" . I don' t really know what the original length was supposed to be since the present Pro 40 is really only 38" . I know the bow is supposed to be a 60# model, but it is pulling #60 with a few turns left. Anyway, I would like to know what the original string length is supposed to be so I can get the right length, and get the bow set up as it is supposed to be.

Also, if anyone knows where I could get a set of P#3 modules for the cams, I would much appreciate it.

I can and may continue to shoot the bow as is since it is shooting as well or better than anything I have owned. I would like to get things set up correctly though.

Thanks!

In 2003 BowTech only has a Pro40 dual cam on there chart on the web-site. It has a 56 7/8" string and a 38 1/2" cable.

The 2003 Pro38 single cam has a 94 1/4" string and a 39 1/4" cable.

In 2002 the Pro38 single cam have 95 15/16" strings with 39 5/8" cable lengths.

I hope this helped

Thanks, Buck Magnet.

I think this is a 2001 model. The owner' s manual I got with it has only the Black Knight 2 in dual cam.

The sticker on the limb has faded and is unreadable.

Thanks again.

Okay, that explains it.

The best thing to do would be to e-mail Pat if he doesn' t reply to this. He could tell you for sure. His e-mail address is on BowTechs web-site.

Jeff,

You might also want to check Weaknecht' s for those specific modules. When I bought my Pro38 SC from them they seemed to have a pretty good stock of the various Bowtech modules. Just a thought.

Thanks, Frank:

I will check with them.

And double thanks for the package you sent. My son Fred is psyched to shoot that bow now. It will be about a year before he can use it, but he is already anxious.

He will have a year to get stronger with our new Bowflex. Then it will be just right for him.

I measured my P38 DC.
ATA: 37 3/8"
Brace Height: 6.5"
On the cams where the cable attaches the measurement is 9/32" , from the center of the hole in the screw, to the limb. This is viewed from the side of the cam where the timing marks are.
Sorry I don' t know cable lengths. Hope this helps. If you need a pic of the cam, let me know.

Thanks to all, especially Pat (Bowtech Shooter), who was working " behind the scenes."

The Bowtech Pro Shop Store called back today, and I got the second last set of P3 modules that they had.

Pat also told me the correct string length, so I will order one of those as well. I heard that the new duallys are pretty stiff to draw, but these cams are really smooth, considering the speed they produce.

What a great bow! Can' t wait to see how it shoots in its intended form. I' ll be keeping this one for quite a while the way it looks.

And Phil, thanks for the offer and advice. I now know what you have been raving about for the last couple of years!

Jeff,

Glad to hear that your boy is happy. I know I will be very excited the first time that my son has a chance to shoot a bow.

Only too glad to help. The P38 DC should be called the P38 DCSleeper.
