Default How much is Too much

what is the maximun amount of twist ( per inch ) that should be put on a cable or string ?

There was a post on this a week ago or so. I said rule of thumb I use is one twist per every two inches length. Others said a twist per inch. Someone else said Winners Choice had a lot of twists in, I believe it was close to the 1 to 1. My thinking (and this is just my opinion) is that too many twists will not allow the string to do all it' s supposed to. By that I mean that it won' t absorb some of the energy and that will be transfered to the bow making it louder and vibrate more.
