Default Arrow Spine .350 vs .405

I'm currently shooting Vapor BlackHawk Pro Black 4000 arrows witha spine of .350 and 8.4gpi but looking to get new arrows and looking at the CX Maxima 3D Select 250's...They are lighter at 7.3gpi and I under stand they will be faster and probably shoot higher but what will the stiffer spine, .404 do to my accuracy or arrow flight??

Yep, you would be underspined unless you drop your bow wieght to 62lbs or less.

Basically suck. Accuracy would go to the crapper. Why in the world would you want to shoot underspined????

You have it backwards. That isn't a stiffer spined arrow. Assuming that the .404 is correct (haven't checked) it is a weaker arrow than the .350 spined Vapor arrows.

That number is the amount of bend in the arrow. A .404 spined arrow bends .404 inches when tested and a .350 spined arrow only bends .350 inches when tested. The less it bends the stiffer the arrow.

In the maximas you should be looking at the 350's and not the 250's.

Ok so if I do this everybody says I will be underspined...So when I look at the "pros" set-ups they have listed on their sites then they also shoot underspined...Why??

For instance one pro set-up I looked at shoots the Easton Flatline 400 with a .400 spine..I'm guessing this persons draw weight at 70# but their draw length is 29.5" and they shoot the Reezan..By the Easton Shaft selector that isn't even a recommended shaft and by what you all are telling me that would be under spined..so why shoot it then?? specially if your a TV pro??

Why would you assum they are shooting 70#? Most 3d Shooters I know shoots 60#. And what is a TV Pro? And why would you follow someone on TV? Why not just tune the bow for the arrow?

Hey man, I say have at it. Go buy yourself a dozen, maybe even three dozen.

Because their web-site says they shoot 70#!! TV Pro??? Drury, Kisky, Reeve, Potts, Lakoski...any of these sound familiar?? I'm sorry but I think these TV pros probably know more than you and I and probably more than our local Pro Shops!!!

Thanks for your positive help in answering my question..I think I will now go out and buy 3 dozen!!
