Shop sells hundreds of the QAD dropaways each year- I'd say 90% are the HD model. I'm not a fan of the lesser versions (noisy, bounceback issues, often just stop working or hang up) , but the top of the line HD model, is a really, really good rest and I've not seen any failures or problems. That said, I'm partial to the Limbdriver. I also still like the Trophy Takers-solid, simple, reasonably priced (but do have some bounceback issues too at times with certain bows)

I think the best Hunting sight out there for the $ is the new Tru-Glo Micro-brite- simple, super solid, quiet, super bright pins, and easy peasy adjustments. At some point I'll be putting one on my own bow. The new Tru-Ball armortech sights are great as well, albeit very expensive and too "fiddly" for my tastes . And on a budget, Cobra still is tough to beat. There are a ton of good sights out there really, Sword, Spott-Hogg, HHA, etc.

By far, release wise, our biggest selling line is Tru-fire. But thats mostly an issue of pricing. They are good values for the $, have comfy straps, and easy adjustability, but I don't like the feel of them at all- mushy triggers. I'm partial to Scott, my Tru-Ball Short & Sweet, Carter wrist straps (albeit most are noisy IME), and I have a very basic Cobra Green Mamba that is a fave as well, even though it's a "cheapie".

As far as easy to adjust bright sites.. Axcel Armortech - hands down.

rests, really QAD makes a really good one, like JeffB said only get the HD. Octane Hostage with new style brushes works well. I personally havent used the Limbdriver. I am installing an Octane Tripwire tonight to try out, and will let you know what I think about it.

I've shot a lot of rests over my 40 plus yrs. of bowhunting and I "love" my QAD HD, as for sights I'm a single pin slider fan and I shoot an HHA. I've shot it for 4 yrs. and it "works" so i'm kind of out of the loop as far as sights go. I've only shot a release for the past 5 yrs. and I shoot a Scott Mongoose. I love it so no need to change that either.

Yeah... thats pretty much how I roll.... I've used QADs for 5 years now.... messed with some other stuff... don't see me ever using anything else again.

I shoot an HHA 5519 sight.... love it too.

But I do depart on releases.... I shoot a Scott Caliper.... its about the cheapest one they make.... the release picked me.... I didn't pick it... I shoot it well.... so there you have it.

As to stuff I don't much like... I'm not a fan the hostage rests. I know they have made improvements in the quality and what not... and maybe they just left a bad taste.... but no thanks. I've messed with Octane's new tripwire.... and I think it kinda sucks. Mathews new downforce is a good target rest... but I wouldn't stick it on a hunting bow. I hate (and I mean hate) just about everything G5 makes except for Montec and Striker broadheads.... that includes their rests and especially their sights. Trophy Ridge sights suck about equally as bad.

Like many on this board I get to test and shoot a bunch of different stuff.

For rests I have used a good number of rests. For drop away rests I really like the limb driver. It holds and guides your arrow for about 80% of the time the arrow is being pushed by the string and really helps get the arrow going in a straight line. But to be honest I have come full circle and have been shooting the Octane hostage pro and I love this rest. I think it is a perfect hunting rest.

Sights... if you are looking at a single pin adjustable sight then HHA is the best bar none. I don't necessarily want a micro adjustable sight on a hunting bow but if you do want to go that rout then definitely the Axcel armortech sights. They are expensive but worth it if you want a micro adjust. Also I would personally go for the .010" pins.

Releases... Scott Saber tooth or silver horn if you use a loop.

Myself I like the Cobra " Boom Slang " 3 pin lighted sight. It is easy to adjust and also allows you to adjust for windage.. The pins are enclosed which is unlike the older cobra sights..
For an arrow rest I like the Trophy Ridge " Drop Shot " it is very quiet, fast. as well as real smooth. It is not a containment rest so if you want a containment it wouldn't be for you. It also is quite pricey so the price may scare you somewhat.. However IMO it is well worth the money...

I use the QAD rest and Truglo 5 pin with light.I see no point in wasting money on a high end micro adjust sight for hunting.Maybe for target/competition shooting it might be worth the added expense but not on a hunting bow.
