Default Brand Spankin New

Well at least I am...the Bow is not.I recently procured a second hand Martin Terminator Safari 65%...dont know what the 65% means.I dont know anything about the bow.Dont know anything about bowhunting. If anybody could give me a run down of what it is Im supposed to do next. How do I determine what arrows I need?the draw length? The weight of the draw?that kind of stuff. This is the bow I got to work with.Beyond changing it to the specs I need it to be I cant do anything. It has sites and a (weight equalizer?)Always hunted with a gun.But I want to extend the season a lil more this year. Thanks guys.

65% would be the amount of letoff at full draw. That simply means that whatever you set the bows draw weight to you'll only be holding 35% of that at full draw.Your best bet would be to go to a good pro shop for the rest-setup,arrows,etc.Good luck!

definatly find a good archery shop to start out with. We could start rattling off things and your ears would start to bleed then you would burst into flames! The terminology can get really hard to follow, makes the sport sound harder than it really is.

find ya a good local shop and they will hook you right up!

I certainly reccomend going to an Archery Shop like everyone else has said.....and not a Dick's Sporting Goods or Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's or Gander Mountain...etc. They won't take the time or possibly even have the know how for all you need to do to an older used bow. Find an independently owned shop somewhere. There are some smaller chains like "Jay's" that may get you going, depends on where you are and what shops exist.

The one thing I would add would be to get involved in a local archery league or ask the shop owner about a range to shoot at. Maybe he has one. There will be guys there that can help you by not only advice but by letting you try thier toys so you know if you like them or not.

Glad to have another budding archer.....as Michael Waddel says....WELCOME TO THE BROTHERHOOD!
