Default 2008 Bowtech General Cam Question

Greetings. I recently had to get my BT General cams replaced for cam lean. Anyway, I brought it home from the authorized distributor and shot it four times. Both cams were making noise so I tightend the cam bolts. I then noticed that each cam only has two bolts and three female ports. Can someone please look at their General and let me know if you have three bolts in each cam? I've combed the web all day with no avail. If so, this won't be the first time I've received shoddy work from the reseller, I will report to BowTech.

Thanks,
ape

Tribal - Thanks for the quick reply - that is not good. THANK Goodness that I noticed that before pulling back a couple of hundred times. A great reminder to all to constantly check their equipment and pay attention to even subtle differences in sound and feel. Good luck this fall!

NOT GOOD> I would take it back and ask the guy if there is a new bulletin out on why they only have 2 machine screws in the cam instead of 3 as it was designed and see if he tries to tell you a big one.....or he may suprise you and say "Oh, My Bad. I got to talking and simply left those 2 center ones out" Or then again he just says "2 is all it really needs".

THEN I would contact BowTech with his way of dealing with the issue if it was negative. However, remember, you won't get any favors from him anymore. Is there another shop to do your work?

In his defense or to flame him, the center ones do look as if the cam has to be rotated a bit to do it correctly and without damage to the cable serving. He may have been leaving those for last (which you would have to do) or he just got lazy and said the heck with them.

Good Catch!

Good Luck in dealing with him.

Yep, get that third screw in. I replaced some general cams last friday night on a customers bow at the shop because of this issue (cam cracked/broke-just about ripped the module in two)

And yes it was a pain in the ass because you had to keep putting the bow in the press to get that middle mod screw in or out. Modular bows that need to be put in the press are a pet peeve of mine.
