I know its off topic, but I use paper tuning for my trad bows quite a bit.Â* Just for "blank bale shooting".Â* it will tell you a lot about your release, and form.Â*
Another good use of paper tune is culling out arrows. (yes, I learned this off of Len) Lets say I have bow bare shaft tuned, broadhead tuned, and want to go thru my arrows and find spine inconsistencies or fletch orientation. Paper tune is great for this. Unless you want to BH tune or bare shaft tune them all.I think its an ok (get you in the ball park tool).Â* But the proof is in the pudding for a hunter.Â* And when the moment happens for a shot you want to know where that arrow is going.Â* And thats with BH's.Â*
The only issue with this is that a bad nock might be the culprit and not the arrow,before discarding a "bad" arrow,replace nock and check again.

There used to be another guy on here that used to preach this. Had his own shop who used to do a lot of technical tests. Good call. I will have to keep this in mind.
i was just bringing up the idea that bh tuning isnt always the way to go b/c sometimes you cant. I didnt mean to sound like a smart a~~ if i did.

Not at all Derek, I appreciated the input as it gives me something else to consider. I just know that for me personally, with what I do,a BH tune does what I need it too, and like I said, I know a couple of target shooters the actually put BH's on their target arrows to tweak their tune a little.
