Default Best bows under $600?

I know, it used to be that "budget" bows were around $400 (actually I remember top of the line bows at well under $400, but I digress).

How times change.

Someone I know is looking for a new bow 6 bills or under. I've made my reccomendations to him (my first thought was the Diamond Nitrous), what are yours? What are the best values?

Please don't say buy used- def wants to buy new from a dealer with a warranty/set up/service, etc.

Prices vary quite a bit depending on what part of the country you're in. You can get a brand newMathews S2 for a tad over six bills in some parts of the country and that bow was Mathews top of the line bow (switchback) just a couple 3-4 years ago and is still considered to be one of their best ever. That being said, I'll have to break your rule and saypersonally I'd pick up that same bow gently used for 3-400 hundred and have the extra 2-300 left over to buy better accessories. Not much to worry about warranty wise as far as the Switchback goes. You friend is going to need to learn to set up and tune his own bow anyway, so save hime some money lend him ahand learning the ropes. He'll end up with a much better rig going usedas he'llhaving a nicer qualitysite, rest, and release.

I'd go to a shop and look at the hold overs, most of them are marked way down. Saw an 07 Allegiance for $525. Another shop has 07 Trykons and Ultra Techs for $485. The 08 models should all be in the $600 range.

Another excellent option is to have him look at the Mission line. You can pick up a Mission Journey which has all the nice features of the Mathews line aside from the hydraulic dampners in the riser. 31-inch axle-to-axle, a 7 1/2-inch brace height and an 80 percent let off. approximately 315 feet per second.Very nice bows for the money.

PSE Bow Madness

around 500 new. I would personally buy one if that says anything about what i think about them. I might hunt with one this year if i dont get another AM before hunting season.
