Hey guys,
I am sure that at some point in the past this has been talked about, but what exactly is the D shaped part on the back of the hoyt risers there? Is it to keep from torqueing the bow, reduce vibe, weight distribution? I am just curious.

Yes. It works just like the truss on a bridge. The load and vibration goes through the truss rather than the grip, or in the case of the bridge, the deck. The whole riser is basically shaped like a triangle, which is an extremely strong geometric shape.

Strength... The strongestriser is the ones found on the ultra/pro/vantage elite. Look at it on their website. Your arrow actually is enclosed by the riser. It makes for a stiff riser.
