Default Summit or API?

I recall a post a while back saying that one of these two was having trouble with welds holding up. Which was it??

I think it was API, though I am sure some summits have had a weld come loose.

I can' t speak for API but Summits are IMO super quality stands.

I second Rack-attack' s opinion on summit.
Have a Viper Expreme XLS and love it.

I have an API that I' m not very happy with [:@] It creaks and groans quite a bit. That' s not real important dealing with pigs, but I would never deer hunt with it. Don' t know if the welds are weak or what.

I love my Summit, no complaints, but I like the wrap around chain set up on my brothers climber a little better. I beleive that is an API stand. Juniorpc

I am a huge Summit fan. I feel there stands offer the bowhunter a whole lot for your money. Safe, quiet, stable, and very easy to use. On top of that there customer service is to notch. I have also heard rumblings about API having some trouble with financing and some legal issues of late. I don' t know how true they are, but I thought I would throw that in as food for thought.

Hey 5shot,

We should start a petition to become official sponsors of Summit

Summits are the most well-rounded treestands avaliable. Also, these guys are probablly some of the nicest people you will ever talk to, which says alot. In my opinion, a good company must have three requirements....

1. A very good product (Summit has the best in my opinion)

2. They must stand behind their product (Summit definetly does this)

3. The guys that run the company must be nice (Will Woller and the rest of these guys are great, I regularly talk to Will through e-mail and HE IS A MEMBER ON THIS BOARD)

This shows that these guys care about what hunters want. They come to talk to the guys that use their stands to see what they want and would like to see. That my friend is marketing at its best.

About 3 years ago Summit did have some weld problems. I have gotten 2 stands since then and have had no problems with them whatsoever.
