Default Draw Weight, FPS, and KE Lbs

Got my new chrono the other day and have been doing some testing with various arrow weights. I have narrowd it down to these choices with the arrows I now have. This will be for hunting only. Trying to decide which one before I fine tune.

At 61# Slightly uncomfortable but can do.

1.335 Gr. arrow
280 FPS
58.3 Lbs KE

2. 393 Gr. arrow
262 FPS
59.9 Lbs KE

AT 57# Most comfortable.

1. 335 Gr. arrow
276FPS
56.7 Lbs KE

2. 358 Gr. arrow
266 FPS
56.2 Lbs KE

I am sureI can get any combo to fly well with broadheads. So for those of you that have been there, done that, which one do you think would be the best one to go with?

Thanks

Ed

It's a small difference. Paper tune and use the combination that tunes best.

Yep, there seems to be little difference indeed except with the 393Gr. I would reckon that 393 Gr. at 262 FPS might be the one to go with. I was having good results with a 360Gr. at 270 FPS but found out I was underspined. I just hate to give up any more speed since I don't have that much to deal with.

Unfortunately it may be a while before I find out though. Having problems with my shoulder and neck again. Thats why I am playing with less draw weight. Just had neck fusion 1 1/2 years ago and now the disc below it is giving out. Shoulder surgery one year ago and it too is giving me a fit. Geeze I hate getting old!

Ed, The difference is too small to make a difference. I agree! Go with the combo that gives you best Arrow/Broadhead flight.

The heavier arrow will carry more momentum giving you better penetration even though the KE is very close. But dont sacrifice arrow flight for a little energy!
