Drop away vs. whisker buscuit

I currently have a Muzzy ZE on my switchback XT. Im considering switching to a WB rest but am concerned with the shoot thru style slowing things down sincehad to lower poundage with this bow due to shoulder issues. How much difference would I see btw a drop away and the WB? When I tested out an XT in the store, it used the WB and seemed pretty fast but I cant remember the poundage they were using there at that time.

I did this exact test 3 or so years. I saw up to 15fps depending on fletch.

I would 10 to 1 rather have a MZE than a biscuit. I miss using the MZE on my bows, but the newer center pivots don't work that great IMO. MZE is quieter, faster, and you have partial containment along with drop away.

The shorter and lower profile of vain that you use will decrese the amount of fps lost. So if you werer to shoot a 2.3" duravane you would probably not be losing very much at all, my guess would be 4-7fps. Just a guess, no testing of it or anything.

the only thing i dint like about the WB. is it can be pretty noisy sometimes. enough where a deer might hear it.

Just my personal opinion, but I'll NEVER have a WB on any of my bows. I'm not a big fan or destroying fletching, and they destroy fletching as much as anything IMHO. If you are going to shoot a WB, I think BLAZERS are about as good as anything to shoot through one because they are DURABLE as anything I've seen, and they short fletches will decrease the "time" you have contact, and once clear, they steer arrows as well as anything I've personally shot.

I have had experience with the WB and I agree with pretty much everything state above. Great for hunting and containment, your not gonna loose a lot of speed, should use blazers -- much less succeptable to wear through the biscuit. I have also used a Octane Hostage Pro: Good design, need stiffer bottom bristle (which they have come out now), can be kinda a tight fit when using helical. I am not using a Limbdriver: LOVE IT, easy as pie to tune, simply mechanics, doesn't attach to string, wide launcher, only downfall - no containment but I haven't had a problem and I'm a clutz if that says anything.

Why? I fnd the whammy to be one of the best rest on the market right now.

Not a fan. I know alot of people like them, but they are not for me. Seeing this video makes me cringe. It does exactly what you want to avoid having happen to the arrow.
