Default Bowtechs and cable slides

Season's over here and its time to start tinkering already. I'm using the stock Bowtech slide on my 07 Allegiance and ran into a problem this past summer that I never addressed. I tried shooting Blazers, but with the stock slide, they were way too close to the cables for my comfort. I'm debating on swapping to a Sims slide I have laying around but was wondering if anyone else uses this slide, or others to replace the factory.

I realize the Sims slide will pull the cables closer to the cable rod, which concerns me a little given that there is already a bit of inherent cam lean with these bows to begin with.

What is everyone using for a replacement slide?

We had a problem with this at Gander Mountain a couple weeks ago. A guy dry fired his bow and the only thing that broke was the slide. It scared the hell out of me. We tried every replacement slide in the store (about 5 or 6) and none of them worked. All I am saying is, don't loose your stock one.

The Sims slide worked well with my 06 Allegiance. Had no tuning issues and provided enough clearance for the blazers.

You might get lucky and find one that works for you. Sounds like the work has already been done. Thanks mez.

mez, did you notice any abnormal string or cable wear from going to this slide?

That would not surprise me. I love the roller cables much better than the slide.

Muzzyman88,

I sent you an e-mail through this web site...

In the past I've use the Hicks white Teflon 3D slides with great results howeveron my S.W.A.T. I'm using our newly designed stock slide with Predator vanes and they have PLENTY of clearance...I have several hundred shots on it and there is no sign of wear on the cables...

Go with the Hoyt Cable Slide from Lancaster. This is the closest slide to the OEM Bowtech, but will give slightly more clearance. Cheap too and more durable than the Bowtech slide which I kept breaking constantly.
