Default QAD Ultra Rest on Marquis?

I am going to a drop away after this hunting season becuase the Hostage Pro is a terd. I am looking at the QAD Ultra and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it on a Marquis. My 2 main concerns are this: 1. I shoot blazers and am concerned they might not clear the containment bar 2. Is there enough vertical and horizontal adjustement? Any help appreciated

No experience with one on a Marquis, but mine was nothing but trouble on a PSE. Get a Trophy Taker.

I have one on mymathews dxt and also shoot blazers, I took my retaining bar off while target shooting and have never put it back on. I have yet to shoot standing on my head and have had no problems without it.

1) Yes

2) Yes

If you have a field covered up with geese... or some ponds full of ducks... I'll be there.....

I don't know if I've ever put one on a Marquis... several dozen on black ice's and Libertys. Several dozen on various bowtechs. Marquis really isn't any different than any other BT/Diamond.

You'll have plenty of adjustment. You'll likely need the spacer and longer windage screw to have enough for center shot. No big deal.

I shoot twisters and my girlfriend shoots blazers. I don't think I've set one up in the past month that the customer wasn't shooting blazers... I haven't had any issues at all.... zero... none...

I've fixed a few that were set up at home or by other shops (nameless) that had some issues... and I had to put a whop chuey on a rip cord yesterday (I hate a rip cord maybe because I've only ever messed with four or five and it has all been bows set up somewhere else and they have all been jacked up).

Free advice... the Ultra HD is worth the extra money. It is much quieter than the LD. But either way... you'll have clearance.. and if you don't... then you did it wrong!!!

Do these spacers and windage screw already comein the package or willI need to contact QAD?

What areyour thoughts on the LimbDriver? I really like themechanics of it; if it only had full containment. Note: I am using mostly for hunting but am thinking about finding a place to shoot in a hunter class for recreation.

Yes, the spacer and longer screw come in the package. At least on all the Pro-series ones. Its not applicable on the hunter model as the design and body of the thing is totally different.

As to the limbdriver... I've never laid my eyes on one personally. Seen lots of stuff on the net... watched videos... read reviews..... never seen one.

My 3rd party take... I've heard enough good from enough good people to say its probably a keeper. From a hunter standpoint (which is always my standpoint) I prefer full containment. I drag my bow up and down the tree like a wreck anchor... I don't know how secure that long cord is... but again from a third party stance it is a concern to me... long cords... running straight up the center of the bow.... I'd like to put my hands on one and give it the once over. It looks fairly Andy proof though..... and I've been known to stuff shotgun shells backwards into guns in the heat of an early morning flight of teal..... I like the fact that on the QAD... the arrow isn't going anywhere.... I tend to lay my bow in my lap when on the stand... I have a hanger for glassing and eating lunch and taking naps.. but when I'm serious I've got the bow in hand in my lap... and I don't need my arrow flopping all over the place.

Swamp: I agree with you 100 percent. The full containment is what draws me to the QAD. I have heard nothing but great things about the LD for people on AT and on here. So basically it between those two. I love your directions on how to tie one in thats why I called you out. It just seems so much smarter and more secure. I just hope I can find someone that can do it like or similar to the way you set it up. Where do you live by the way? I wouldn't be opposed to a drive if I can't find anyone that can set it up properly. You can pm the info for safety reasons if you would like

SC, the LD cord is of no obstruction to anything in hunting situations, or just in general. from my experience with it, its durable and pretty much fail proof. just letting you know man. as for hunting situations, i would go with full containment. i use my LD hunting and always have my bow in my lap and its fine but it would be more convenient to have the full containment yes, but a piece of moleskin on the riser and your good to go as far as noise. the arrow flopping around is just something you get used to. you can deal with it, but its nice to not have tto worry about it. just my .02

Thats exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure that having your index finger over the arrow isn't that big a deal... heck I still hold the arrow on my QAD even though its contained. I guess thats left over from the old TM Hunter/Gold-Key days.

^lol!^ i know exactly what your talking aboutive shot a WB for the last 2 years and i switched to the LD recently and it wasnt hard to adapt to but it is something you have to think about when walking around in the woods or in the stand. the thing i like about the LD more that the other open da's is that the LD's arms lay so flat that you dont really have to use your index finger to hold it on b/c it will just slide right over the arm without getting stuck. my review of it is completely unbiased and i really believe its a good rest. but if your wanting one that you dont have to worry about the arrow moving around, then the LD is definately not for you.
