I just got a 03 Hoyt ProTec in the Cam.5. I' m shooting a peepsite on it and kept the string leeches on it. I' m shooting an ACC arrow that weighs out to 341 grains.
I' m pulling 63 pounds at 29 inches and I shoot a trigger release. I ran it through the shop Chrony last night, but the chrony has seen better days (someone shot it and damaged it a few days ago). The Chrony is consistantly showing an arrowspeed of 247FPS. My question is could this be right??? It certainly looks alot faster than that. I was wondering if there was a formula to predict approximate arrow speed.
Seams about right if you are useing a peep with a tube on it ,if not I would expect about 7 -10 fps faster . Check your timing and tune that may be robbing some speed allso .

I' m not using the tubing on the peep. The timing and tuning seem right. I' m going to run it through another chrony sometime this weekend or next week to check it.
I just pushed your information through ' The Archery Program' and would say your chrono is broke! The program shows 267 f/s and is usually +- 2 f/s if you published draw length and brace are right.
Hope this helps
