Default Question

At the present time I am shooting beman ICS 340 arrows, which are 9.3 gr.with a length of 29 inchs. And have Muzzy 100 gr. broadheads on them. I am shooting 62 lbs on my bow. I was wondering if I was to shoot beman ICS 400which are 8.4 gr. atthe same length but used Muzzy 125 gr. broadheads would I be losing or gaining anything. I guess what I am asking is it better to use a heavier arrow with a lighter broadhead or a lighter arrow with a heavier broadhead. Or does it even matter. Thanks

Default RE: Question

You will actually be closer to optimum spine by shooting the 400 series arrow with the 100 grain tips. If you go to the 340 series arrow, then the 125 grain head will put you closer to optimum spine - although you will still be a little on the stiff side.

I am surprised you are able to shoot .340" spine out of a 62lb bow. I would follow roskoes advise.

I agree, I have almost the same set up and I use 340's, using 220 grain broadheads.
