Default 2315 enough?

Hi everyone,
I'm shooting an old whitetail 2 set at 70 lbs and need 32in arrows. I shoot with fingers(tab). I always used to use xx75 2317(300 now I guess), but all I can find locally are 2315(340). Are these stiff enough for my bow? I always used 125gr points, maybe with 100's it would work?

Not even close, have you looked on e-bay for the 2317's?

I think find some of the 300's. Everything I've looked at says the 340 is too light.

Shawn,
Finger shooters tend to require heavier spines, and the longer that arrow, the weaker that spine is gonna get. Now I'd shoot a 125gr tip if I were gonna be shooting that set-up he has, and I'd definitely look at the heavier spine maybe even a 2219 LOG!!! See my post on "NEED HELP ASAP" regarding shooting 2212's and having them snap off when hitting targets at a 3D shoot.

You may have to try 2419's for your combo.....you sure wont have penetration issues!

I was just out messing with my bow, and I think I'll need even longer than 32". I nocked one of my old arrows with a broadhead and drawing it to the stops made the blade hit the rest. Not sure how I shot it like that before. I'm thinking at least 33".

You should draw to your draw length, not necessarily until the bow can't be drawn any longer. Ideally if the bow fits you, you will reach your draw length when the bow reaches full draw. I've never heard of anyone needing 33" arrows, but I guess its not impossible.

You may be able to get by with 2315 if you shorten your arrows. You can probably cut 2" or more by trying a whisker biscuit. Not sure it will work with a bow of that vintage, but it might. If you take up a release instead of the tab, you'll probably be able to get by with the 2315.

It may be that you're drawing it farther than before for a number of reasons including that the string is getting worn out and has elongated. First thing you need to do is establish your proper draw length, then determine the proper arrow length for your bow when it's set at your draw length. If you are truely shooting 70# and a 32" shaft with fingers then you definitely want to stay away from the 2315 shafts. If you can't find 2317, 2419 or 2514 (.300 spine) shafts locally you may have to order them.
