What are you wanting to accomplish by chopping off an inch of arrow?

Beman inserts are about 1 1/4" long so you would have to go more than just an inch to get past the insert.

I would stick with the 340's. You could go to 400's but they are right on the line of being not stiff enough.

It's FOOLISH at best to go that extent just to shorten an arrow 1", plus you maintain a better FOC keeping that 28" worth of arrow, and you keep your spine a little better (cutting off that inch will stiffen your spine just a touch, and you're on the stiff side anyhow. Just because you "CAN" doesn't mean you "SHOULD!!!!" I shoot my arrows a 29.5" because I like the extra length on them and they balance out better.
