Default Bowtech Guardian

I just bought a new 2008 Guardian it's set at 65lbs and I have a draw of 29". I'm shooting carbon express maxima 350 hunters with a 100gr. tip, I'm only getting 269fps out this setup, is that typical? I though it would be much closer to 290, anyone have any input?

Is your cams timed and set for the proper rotation?

What Chrono did you shoot through?

Have you just shot through one?

What does your arrow weigh?

What did your BC say?

Dan

[align=left]I'm new to all this and this is all I know.
390gr. arrow
As far as cams being timed and what not I have no idea.
I shot through only one chrono and I don't know the brand.
On my birth certificate that's the only thing not filled out.
Well at least I answered one of your questions.

I think you maybe able to drop down to the 250 arrows, and that will get you some added speed

How much added speed should I expect if I crank it up to 71lbs?

It is around 2-3fps per pound of draw weight.

What do you have on your string and do you use a peep with a rubber tube? Weight on the string takes away speed and using a peep with a rubber tube can take 6-10fps away as well.

I have a peep sight without the tube and a kisser button. I also have two little rubber things under my brass nock to keep the arrow in place. He said he put two on in case one broke off.

cave62, it may just be a combo of things. You have a little extra weight on the string as opposed to those that only have a peep and loop on their string, you have a 29" DL so will lose about 10fps right there from IBO, your losing some more with the extra 40grns in weight on arrow, your bow may be somewhat out of spec/tune, and IBO's for most bows in most cases are stated as higher than they actually are.
