Default what arrow for new bow?

I am looking at getting all new equiptment after 12 years of bow hunting, I am looking at getting the Bow Tech Extreme VFT with 28" draw length and 60# and use the bow strictly for treestand hunting. From what I read here I think I want to stay as light a arrow as I can and still maintain enough KE to pass through a deer. So here' s the3 part question
1) What is the minimum KE recomended to have to pass through a Whitetail?
2) How much does KE change from 10 yards to 30yard?
3) With equiptment listed above how do I find the lightest arrow with enough KE at (my maximum) 30yards to pass through a deer.
Thanx guys...........

Default RE: what arrow for new bow?

I use gold tip xt' s to hunt with use this link and it will help you find your ke on your bow:

http://www.goldtip.com/Archery/calculators/foc.html:

40 foot lbs is enought to pass through a deer so if your shooting a 400 grain arrow and your bow shoots 265 feet/ sec your ke= 62 footlbs more than enough to go through a deer hope this helps
