Default changing poundag on a bow??

just got done watching the guy at the bow shop finish tuning my bow. and i watch him raise the poundage by maxing it out and then putting it to the poundage i wanted him to. but what about turning it down?? should it be taken to max and then lowered from there?? or should it just be turned down.

Just turn it down both linbs equally. It is best to rotate the deduction of the limbs by soing one one turn then the other one turn untill you reach your desired weight for shooting or long storage.

He probably maxxed it out so he could be sure each was turned out equally. It may change some of the specs a VERY TINY bit, but not enough to worry about, and as long as equal turns were put on both limbs, the tiller should be fine. BH and DL won't be changed enough you'd ever know, and YES the string tension is changed, that's the whole idea.
