How tight to the arrow are the springs supposed to be? Should they just be touching the arow or should they be holding the arrow in place with some force? I am shooting a crabon express arrow. Thanks
We set the Shootout so the teflon tips touch and the top one is a little loose.
Experiment with it until it shoots best for you.

You dont want the studs to grip the arrow you want a loose fit, also b4 adjusting the rest to your arrows cut three 1/4" strips of the sticky back moleskin and apply to the top of the teflon guides this will make the rest super silent.
I hope this helps.

MJR10 - I found just a little play was very good with this rest. I don' t mean a lot either - just enough to allow the arrow to get through on the draw with a little room for give.
