Default how to tie on string wiskers?

Just bought a pair of sting wiskers. Directions say tie on string using a simple knot.
My question is do I just make a knot with the wiskers or do I use some string or dental floss to tie them on? also how far up from the axle should I place them??

are string leeches a better option?

Thanks Matt

OH and another thing, I have friend that separates his string and puts the string whiskers in between.
Is this better ?

Use a constrictor knot and either floss or peep/nock tying thread to secure the whiskers. I put on leather gloves and pull until I can't pull anymore.

I put them around 2" from the axles. The closer you go the less noise reduction you get but also less speed loss.

Do a search on Archery Talk or Mathews Forum, there's some good instructions over there on tying them on.
