Default Pin Settings

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but here goes.
I plan to shoot NFAA courses this year. Could anyone offer any advice on pin settings? I shoot fixed pins, and I think I am only allowed 5 pins.
Thanks everyone.

Woody, I shot a few of the field shoots last year that were here locally and no one said how many pins you could have but I think it is 5. As far as settings I had mine, 20,30,40,60, and 80. Depending on speed af your bow if you need to set them at these or you can set them at what you are comfortable with. The max distance you shoot is 80 though. Good luck. Chris

I don,t even know how to word this, and no next to nothing about the NFAA. But my longest shot on a deer was 39-41 yds. But if your pin is set at 80 yds and your scoring ,what would be the longest shot these (pros) or you are taking at deer. Providing there is a clear shot. Always wondered this. And please don,t answer what ever your comfortable with, I would like some yardage from those of you who have taken a Long Distance Shot and SUCEEDED. Thank You.

To be very honest, the farthest I would be comfortable shooting at a deer would be 20 yds. I have no problem admitting that I dont feel that I am able to take a farther shot than that.
With that said, I shot a field shoot last year and had a blast. Lucked out with a good group that I was placed with. I walked in blind and had only one pin set for 25 yds. First stop was at 80 yds. Needless to say......
I shot a couple 3D shoots a few years back with some buddies and would like to get into a little more this year.
