Default Vanes for WB

What do you guys think about Low Profile 4 inch Duravane for the WB? I'm shooting 27.25 draw @ 60lbs w/27in. 2215's thru a Bear Instinct. I know alot of guys shoot 2inch Blazers through a WB but I haven't had any problem with 4 inch regular vanes. Thought maybe the low profile 4inch would give me a fps or 2 and not wear out the bisquit as quick. Opinions?

Honestly I have tried just about everything through the WB and in my opninion the Blazers are by far the best choice. Duravanes tend to wrinkle, so I don't think they are a good choice at all. If you want to use regular 4" vanes the stand bohning vane is a good choice.

I bought Goldtip arrows last year. Not sure what vanes are on those, but they were by far the best ones I had found to shoot thru the WB. I've also been told Blazers and VaneTEC VMaxx will hold up solid in the WB.

No doubt blazers are the best or if you can find a vane you like that is really stiff. Anything that isn't will wrinkle but if that doesn't drive you nuts then give it a try.

Bi-deltas also work good through a biscuit.

Ok thanks, that would be the Bohning 4 inch 'Killer' vane right?

Goldtip purchased the VaneTec company so this year and last year they were selling their prefletched arrows with Vane Tec V-Max vanes onthehunting arrows.

So you proabably were shooting the Vane Tec Vanes on your Goldtips and just didnt know it.

The Vane Tec and the Blazers are what I recommend for use with the WB in the Bow shop I manage, the Vane Tec Vanes can really take some abuse.

Thanks for all the info. guys. I have decided on the Vanetec VMaxx. Would it be ok to go with the 4 inch that I prefer or do you strongly recommend a shorter fletch?

Duravanes would work fine with the WB, but I prefer Blazers.

Vanetec vanes work very well, and are extremely durable, IME. They are a little heavy though. It depends on your arrow and FOC considerations as far as using the 4" vane. They should work just fine otherwise. I have had very good results with Quickspin ST vanes, but you have decided on the Vanetec, and they should be excellent.
