Ordered me some new arrows...

I called Hunters Friend www.huntersfriend.com yesterday and talked to the guys about some custom arrows.
These guys are great!

(6) Beman ICS Hunter 340's, 29" cutlength, common OEM arrow, offset vanes, etc...

(6) Beman ICS Hunter 340's, 29" cutlength, common OEM arrow, but with right helical feathers, instead of vanes.

I can't wait to see the difference with feathers vs vanes. Normally, with vanes, out of my Reflex Highlander, I am shooting roughly 267 fps and have an FOC around 10.90%. Feathers will give me more speed and a little more FOC.

Has anyone else played around with feathers vs vanes?

Sounds like a good set up Butch......I switch back and forth between vanes and feathers, just to mix things up a bit.....I'mthinking you will see about a 1% increase in FOC, and roughly 5 fps in speed.....I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see your groups tighten up w/ those feathers either....mostly due to the helical.

I like trying both. What kind of vane and feather?

I believe Hunters Friend uses Duravanes for their vanes and Gateway for their feathers. You can order any type of arrow with any type of fletching, arrow wrap, ...whatever you want, from these guys and they will hook you up. Excellent company! [8D]
