Default punched myself in the face

I am struggling to keep my D-loop in to place on my 82nd airborne.
After a few shots the knotsloosen upand it keeps turning.
And today one of the knots came off when I drew back half the way, so as a result I punched myself on the nose [:@].

I am thinking of putting on one of MeanV's sts and removing the one on the bow.
The one MeanV makes are put on lower and out of the way of my D-loop.

Anybody else have this kinda problem ???

Frank

I think your in good company

Could be the material used, some are to stiff. Did you burn the ends of the loop to create a melted ball? If not you need to, it'll keep the end from sliding out. I also when I tie one on, hook my release up to it, grab the string firmly and pull hard on the release.

After all that I still pull hesitantly for a day or two.

Nodog, I know how to tie a D-loop, but it might be you're right, my D-loop material might be a little too stiff tho'.
I am ditching the stringsupressor and getting a MeanV's sts.

Have you set your stock surpressor up properly? are you shooting a right or left handed bow?

Goodness, I can't say I have ever had a D-loop come loose if its knotted properly in 8 years of using em. I myself like the real thick stiff material.

Guys, yes my string is on the right side of the rubber since I'm a LH shooter.
I posted a message with a pick and I got an OK from YOU guys, so.....
I am tying another one tomorrow and then I'm placing the string a little bit more center and see what happens.
The D-loop I tied on my Tomkat has been there for more than one year, so I know my knots and Greg posted a real good "how to" post.....

I think I read that somebody on HNI had replaced his factory sts for a MeanV's, I'm not sure.....

and stop laughing, it bloody hurt[:'(]

That's why your string loop came off and you got punched in the face right?

Are you saying you think your string suppressor is causing the knots on your string loop to come loose?

I don't see how using one of those string suppressors would effect your string loop, but if it did I wouldn't use one at all. One more reason not to have one on a bow in my opinion. If it's putting so much stress on your string that it's making your string loop come loose that simply can't be a good thing. Never have been able to used to the idea of having my string slam onto something at the end of it's travel, just doesn't seem right to me some how. I mean hitting a tree will stop my car, but it's not really the desired method.

I don't think you had the knots tight enough or something. And were you reversing the knots from top to bottom?

I would def. try all my options with the stock before laying out money on an aftermarket item. IMO.

and sorry about your nose....[8D]
