Default String/Cable help

I use an old bow. It is a Bear/Jennings (not real sure) compound. I am VERY new to bows. I know the string and cable on it right now are good, but the pro shop dont know if they can be replaced because they dont know the cable length, and the one that is on it now, is not wire. Any advice would be great as I really like this bow, it is a Carbon Extreme XLR.
