im shootng 70# at 29in, easton says 340,cabela's says 400

Hey twofinger, I think I'd go with the 340's. Even if it is borderline, I'd rather be on the stiff side.

Go with the 340. I did some bare shaft tuning with these arrows last fall. With a 61 lb. Hoyt bow, a 29" 400 series Axis ST (100 gr. field point) was perfect. Going up to 70 lbs, you would surely want a 340, unless you were planning to cut your shafts to 27". At 27" or shorter, with a 100 grain head, the 400 series would be good for 70 lbs.

Just one of the things it depends on is the kind of bow. Unfortunetly arrows are expensive and getting to know a bow takes time. You could order 6 of each and figure it out selling the 6 you don't want. I think the charts run stiff.
